How to Tune Your BENDER®

THE BENDER® is designed to be tuned by hand.
Small adjustments to the body change how the lure rolls, flashes, and swims — allowing anglers to match action to conditions without changing lures.

Tuning is simple. Once set, THE BENDER® holds its shape and delivers consistent action cast after cast.

One Lure. Multiple Setups.

At the core of THE BENDER® is an internal wire-form and metal insert that allows the lure to be shaped by hand and locked into place.

That shape directly controls how the lure performs in the water.

  • More bend = faster roll and stronger flash

  • Less bend = slower, wider swimming action

There is no single “correct” setting. The best setup depends on depth, retrieve speed, current, and how fish are responding.

How to Tune the Action

Adjusting Roll & Flash

  1. Hold the lure firmly near the center of the body

  2. Apply gentle pressure to increase or decrease the bend

  3. The action can be adjusted simply by moving the head of the lure slightly one direction or the other

  4. From there, you can introduce a smooth bend or a subtle twist, depending on how you want the lure to roll and swim

Small adjustments make a noticeable difference. There is no need to force the lure — tuning is controlled, deliberate, and repeatable.

Once tuned, THE BENDER® maintains that shape and delivers consistent action while fishing.

Adjustable Hook Positioning

Hooks In or Hooks Out

THE BENDER® also allows anglers to adjust hook orientation by bending the body.

All BENDER® lures come pre-adjusted with the hooks positioned outward, allowing anglers to fish the lure immediately and fully experience its rolling flash and aggressive action right out of the package.

From there, hook positioning can be tuned based on conditions.

Hooks Out

  • Fully exposed hooks

  • Ideal for open water and faster retrieves

  • Maximizes hook exposure during aggressive strikes

Hooks In

  • Hooks sit closer to the body

  • Helpful around cover, vegetation, or structure

  • Reduces hang-ups while maintaining solid hookups

Because fish strike THE BENDER® aggressively, both setups produce a very high hook-up rate. Anglers can choose the configuration that best fits how and where they fish — without changing rigs or lures.

Why Tunable Action Matters

An Action Fish Aren’t Conditioned To

Most lures rely on factory-fixed action that fish see repeatedly. Over time, predators can become conditioned to those movements.

THE BENDER® is different.

Because the action is tuned by the angler, no two setups are exactly the same. By adjusting the bend or introducing a slight twist, anglers create rolling and flashing behavior that fish are far less familiar with.

This tunability helps provide:

  • A more unpredictable presentation

  • An action fish aren’t conditioned to

  • Greater effectiveness across changing conditions

By tuning THE BENDER® your way, you’re not just adjusting performance — you’re presenting an action fish rarely see.

Designed for Confidence

THE BENDER® is not meant to be complicated.

  • Tune it once, or adjust as conditions change

  • Fish it slow, steady, or with pauses

  • Let the rolling flash trigger reaction strikes

As anglers gain confidence, THE BENDER® often becomes a go-to lure across multiple species and situations.

Quick Tuning Guide

  • Bend more → faster roll

  • Bend less → slower, wider action

  • Hooks in or out → adjust for cover and retrieve style
